Our Dogs

(Am. Can. Ch. Wingate's Quiet Riot, Am CD x Am. Ch. Wingate's Miss Moneypenny)
"Jetz"
This is our foundation female
She lived to be 14-1/2 years old
Jetz produced one litter for us. Her daughter is Chrissy. Jetz was a doting Mom and loved all puppies. Jetz's litter produced 4 puppies - Dakota (the only male), Chrissy, Tosca and Rebel (the only red female).
Jetz was a character. She had definite likes and dislikes and usually would let you know it. She was our first American Champion and introduced us to the differences in showing a dog in the US and Canada. We made many friends through her show career. Although Jetz liked training she didn't like the show ring. She had an agenda and her own way of doing things. Jetz loved to dig and was an expert at ridding the yard of varmints - moles were her specialty. She learned how to tunnel after them and was patient in waiting until they came close to the surface. Jetz loved the beach because she could dig forever. She loved to chase the waves and hunt for whatever critters were out there. In her senior years she continued to do things her own way - often looking at you as if to say she was getting to whatever she was doing and then she'd do what she was asked to do.

"Chrissy"
Chrissy was our first 'home-bred' Champion
Chrissy lived to be 13-1/2 years old
Chrissy produced one litter for us. Her son is Jake
Chrissy finished her Canadian Championship quickly then due to an injury we had to stop showing her in the US. She was a Veteran (over 7) when she achieved her Rally Novices title. Although she liked to train she preferred to keep Ellice company on the couch. Chrissy's litter produced 5 puppies - Jake (the only male), Kaia (the only black female) Taz, Gabby and Keeya. Chrissy was a great Mom. She was tolerant of the pups and all their antics yet taught them definite manners. Chrissy always loved puppies but made sure they knew who was Boss. She loved to fetch a Frisbee - but her idea of bringing it back was to drop it at your feet. Chrissy also loved the beach because she could dig wherever she wanted and then go cool down in the waves.
Can. Int. Ch. Acclaim's The Last Detail, Can/Am CD, Can CDX, Can/Am RA, CGN, Can.ROM

"Jake"
Jake had many accomplishments in his life. From Conformation, Obedience, French Ring training, tracking, Junior Handling, to keeping our yard safe from critters and just hanging out. He was admired by all who got to know him. Many would often say 'Jake loved life' and that he always had a smile on his face. Unfortunately he died suddenly at 7-1/2 of a v-tach cardio episode.
Jake was a lot of fun. He taught us that a 'conformation' dog can be trained in protection sport. He understood his commands in both French and English. He loved hanging out with the Junior handlers because they kept him busy. He got to practice all his tricks with them. He would fetch a toy for anyone and bring it back every time you threw it. He would play hide and go seek with his mother and was a master at hiding. Just before Chrissy would give up looking he would dart out of his hiding place and run past her - and the game would begin again. Jake never cared if it was hot or cold outside. He would play in the rain and hide in the snow. He got along with most dogs - but lots of males would challenge him. He never cared - but he wouldn't back down from them. Jake loved the beach and would play for hours fetching his Kong - stopping only long enough to drink from his water bottle and go again. He liked to roll over on the couch and have his tummy rubbed. Yet, when there was a critter or stranger in his yard - he was on duty.

(Am Ch Wyndems Knights Quest x Sunset Last Tango In Paris)
"Nikon"
Nikon is our latest addition. After Jakes sudden death we felt the need to have another boy in our life. We contacted Dawn Danner of Sunset Dobermans in Beaverton Oregon. Dawn agreed to place Nikon in our home. He finished his Canadian Championship quickly, winning a number of honoured awards. He accomplished his International title in one weekend with a Best of Breed from the classes. He has finished his Rally titles in Canada with many first in class awards. He also finished his Novice Obedience title (Companion Dog), with a first in class as well as 2 seconds. Now we'll move on to higher levels of Obedience and travels to the US to finish both Rally and Obedience there too. He is kind and sweet and very easy to live with. He loves to train and show - and just be around his family and doggy friends.
Nikon's first experience at the beach was great. He figured out that he could run and fetch his Kong for a long way. He liked to stop and stare at the birds. He's tried to sneak up on them but they managed to fly away with lots of space. He's OK with that because there are lots of other things to explore at the beach. On his second trip he knew where he was and knew this was one big playground. He happily poses for anyone who wants to take a photo. I'm sure we'll have lots of 'Nikon' memory's from the beach in years to come.

Available Puppies
We breed on a very limited basis. We breed to conform to the CKC Doberman standard and only to improve the stock we have. Although we have a registered “Kennel” name that does not mean we have a kennel with many dogs.
We abide by the BC Doberman Pinscher Club and the Doberman Pinscher Club of America’s code of ethics. These codes are very explicit in when, how often and why a dog should be bred.
We test for vWD (bleeding disorder), hip dysplasia, CERF (vision test), thyroid function, Heart (DCM) and other diseases as reliable tests are developed.
A licensed Veterinarian gives all puppies at least three sets of Vaccinations. We provide, through our Veterinarian, health records for each puppy. They have been wormed, had their dewclaws removed, tails docked and ears cropped. We provide aftercare for the cropped ears until they are standing correctly.
All puppies are sold on a contractual basis with non-breeding agreements.
We do not sell puppies over the web – we want you to come and visit our dogs and we will visit your home as well. If you are from out of town we will require references. You are adopting a ‘member of our family’ and we take this very seriously. We will provide unending amounts of help in regards to training, health issues, feeding and grooming. We help you choose a puppy that will match your lifestyle. Remember this is a lifelong commitment and we want both you and your new puppy to be happy.
We don't have any puppies at this time and do not have a litter planned. Unfortunately with the crop and dock regulations that the BC Veterinary Association has put in place it is difficult for breeders to supply puppies that are cropped and docked. Since most people want cropped and docked puppies it makes it difficult to sell the uncropped and undocked puppies. This has forced many breeders to stop breeding Dobermans. We will post here when we plan another litter. Acclaim Dobermans
